Most of the tools we have written about meter something you do not control: people who post, people who answer, people who merely load a page. BugHerd does not. It meters seats — the members of your own team — and everything else is unlimited.
That makes it the most straightforward pricing model in this category, and for one specific job it is better value than we are. We would rather say that here than have you find out afterwards.
The plans
Read off their pricing page on 2026-08-12. Headline prices are billed annually; the monthly figure is in brackets.
| Plan | Per month | Members | Projects | Guests / clients |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Standard | $42 ($50 monthly) | 5 | Unlimited | Unlimited |
| Studio | $67 ($80 monthly) | 10 | Unlimited | Unlimited |
| Premium | $125 ($150 monthly) | 25 | Unlimited | Unlimited |
| Custom | "Let's talk" | Custom | Unlimited | Unlimited |
Extra members are $6.60/mo on annual billing, $8/mo on monthly.
Two things we are deliberately not telling you. Their Standard plan states its storage allowance two different ways on the same page — one figure against the monthly price, a different one against the annual — so we publish no storage number for BugHerd at all. And the page offers a free trial without saying how long it lasts, so we are not going to invent a length. It does state a 60-day money-back guarantee.
The meter is the good news
"Unlimited projects, unlimited guests" is not marketing fluff here — it is the thing that matters most to an agency. Your client's marketing director, their compliance person and the stakeholder who appears in week six all cost nothing. Your bill moves only when you hire.
That is a meter you control, which is exactly the property we argue for on our own comparison page. Canny bills per person who gives feedback; Beamer bills per person who loads a page. BugHerd does neither. Credit where it is due.
Where that leaves us, honestly
For visual bug reporting across many client sites and nothing else, BugHerd is better value than we are. Unlimited projects from $42/mo beats our Pro at $79 plus $12 per five extra client sites, and it beats it by more the more sites you run. If that is your whole job, buy theirs.
We are not going to bury that. It is the second time we have published a finding like it — Marker.io's agency plan carries 50 projects for less than we would charge at that scale, too.
The honest distinction is scope, not price. BugHerd covers one of the six things we do. If what you need across those client sites is bug reporting plus a CSAT survey plus a changelog plus a testimonial collector plus a roadmap board, the alternative is not a cheaper BugHerd plan — it is four vendors, four dashboards and four invoices, three of which get more expensive as your clients' teams engage.
And our meter is different in kind rather than better in every case: we charge per widget and per project, so our bill moves when you take on more clients, while theirs moves when you take on more staff. Which of those you would rather have depends on which of them grows faster in your business. For a three-person studio running twenty client sites, theirs is the better shape. For a ten-person team running four products, ours is.
What to check before buying either
- Count the thing that is metered, not the price. For BugHerd that is your headcount. For us it is client sites and widgets. Both are on one line of a pricing page that most people skim.
- Ask which number grows faster. If you are hiring, seats hurt. If you are winning clients, projects hurt.
- Ask whether you need one surface or several. This is the entire argument, and it is a question about your business, not about either product.
Every BugHerd number here was read off bugherd.com/pricing on 2026-08-12, not from a comparison listicle — three of the first six vendors we checked that way were materially wrong. Pricing changes; go and check theirs, and check ours.
On the numbers: every competitor price here was read off that vendor's own pricing page on August 12, 2026, not from a comparison listicle — three of the six we first checked were materially wrong. Pricing changes; if you are reading this much later, check the vendor's page and tell us if we are stale.
Give every client site its own feedback queue, without buying seats → Feedback, surveys, visual annotation, changelog, a voting board and testimonials on one flat plan. Embed them or send them as a link. Responses, visitors and page views are never metered. The like-for-like comparison is Pro at $79 against about $261/mo across four vendors. 7-day free trial, no card.
